    The primary objective of the job is to provide superior, accurate and cost effective service to clients (policy owners and distribution partners) for all Canada Life Living Benefits policies.

    The Client Service Coordinator will respond to and process requests for policy changes and/ or information and to ensure that our policy records are correct.

     

    Accountabilities:

    • Processing – ensure proper authorizations are received, complex calculations are done and systems records are updated accurately. This involves issuing of large cheques and related accounting entries relating to all Living Benefits policies (disability insurance including expense policies and critical illness)
    • Customer Service – responsible for providing technical/contractual information and direction where appropriate directly to policyholders, distribution partners, other financial institutions accountants, lawyers and other Head Office Departments including pricing and financial management
    • Complex Policy changes - adding coverages and benefits to enforce policies. Determining if the new coverage or benefit is an increase in risk where underwriting is required. Interface with Underwriting where necessary. Order underwriting evidence from vendors or physicians. Convey final underwriting decision to brokers etc.

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • University or post secondary education is considered an asset
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated customer service skills
    • Attention to detail required
    • Excellent math and problem solving skills
    • Proven ability to work in a team environment
    • Strong analytical and decision making skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Knowledge of Living Benefit products and the Ingenium System would be a definite asset
